Interview with KISS Kollector
by Joop van Pelt 2006
"Throughout the time I spent close to KISS, I wanted to experience everything, capture every moment along the way, which is why I ended up with tons (literally!) of memorabilia to go along with more memories than I could ever recall. The book isn't just photos of KISS onstage and a story about Beth, it's full of fun, strange stuff like hand-stitched pillowcases which Peter's mom made for us, a personal birthday card from Rush, pictures of Peter riding an elephant, a matchbook from the Electric Ballroom. I kept telling my staff, 'No, I want more photos, more clutter.' I want people to open this book and think, 'How am I ever going to absorb all of this?!' I can't wait for the fans to see it. Fortunately, they won't have long to wait as by the time they read this interview, the book's late September release date will almost be upon us. The book will only be available through my web site www.lydiacriss.com and we will begin accepting pre-orders soon."
One final question: In November 2004 you did a big auction via Backstage Auctions, any regrets getting rid of certain items?
"At first I thought the answer to that question was no, but after some time has gone by, my feelings have changed. I do regret getting rid of some of my clothes; not that I would ever wear them again, but because my mother made them and she is no longer with us."
